Bedroom lamps serve many purposes, it all depends on what you need it for. For readers, it‘s a more of a need that allows them to read books at night while laying in bed. But there are also individuals who buy bedroom lamps mainly to decorate their space. And lastly, creating an ambient atmosphere when the bedroom lights are off is another popular reason as to why people purchase bedroom lamps. Bedroom lamps are available in a variety of styles, designs and functions. In this article, I‘ll take a closer look at these three purposes of bedroom lamps so you can decide which one is best for you.
Lamps for Reading, Perfect lighting along with functionality and practicality are usually the most important features of a bedroom lamp for readers. The best lamps that cater to these needs are ‘swing arm‘ lamps because they‘re built to allow the lamp head to move independently of the main body stand. While they can be used for reading purposes, they are perfectly suitable for many other tasks at night while in bed. For example, you can use it for writing on a notepad or knitting an article of clothing. The swing arm component of these type of lamps make it easy to spot the difference between them and the regular lamps. The swing arm component often have two horizontal bars (attached with a hinge) sticking from the lamp. This allows it to swing 360 degrees and to reach out to a certain length (depending on the lamps design).
Restful bedroom paint colors normally include neutrals and a lot of cool color hues. Neutral doesn‘t have to be dull or boring! Pretty much any color that goes beautifully with a lot of other colors is recognized as a neutral. Picking out bedroom colors that are a mixture of a number of colors is better, because you can pull in nice looking contrasts which often enhances the attributes that you decided to put in your bedroom, such as the furniture or maybe the quilts or your art pieces.
A more difficult bedroom to decorate is your child‘s room. Regardless of the age of your child, you want to find bedroom furniture that is durable, and preferably will last the duration of your child‘s tenure in your home. Granted, if your baby is two months old, you‘ll obviously need to refurnish at some point. Nonetheless, try for dressers, nightstands, and storage units that will last through adolescences. Also try to keep walls and linens as neutral as possible while remaining aesthetically pleasant to the child. One major goal is to keep the bedroom furniture and walls in tact; allow the major decorative elements to be the accessories because regardless of all else, the accessories are those things the child will pick out and the child will change throughout his/her youth.
